The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for multiple area counties for Friday morning.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 20s or low 30s by sunrise Friday. The freeze warning lasts from 4 a.m. until 9 a.m. and applies to Lincoln, McDuffie, Columbia, Richmond, Burke, Lancaster, Chesterfield, McCormick, Newberry, Fairfield, Kershaw, Edgefield, Saluda, Lexington, Richland, Lee, Aiken, Sumter, Barnwell, Orangeburg, Calhoun, Clarendon and Bamburg counties.

Columbia County Emergency Services Director Pam Tucker warns area residents to turn off automatic timers on sprinkler systems. The water runoff can create ice on roadways.
