Aiken County deputy injured in wreck

An Aiken County sheriff’s deputy, responding to a burglary Wednesday morning, suffered minor injuries when his car hit a curb and overturned on a newly constructed section of the Palmetto Parkway.

According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, Brandon Geisler, 26, of Graniteville, lost control of his patrol car on a rain slicked portion of Belvedere-Clearwater Road.

The deputy was transported to Aiken Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
