Former Jaguar golfers off to rough start at year's last major

Former Augusta State golfers Vaughn Taylor and Oliver Wilson have some work to do Friday to make the cut at the PGA Championship. Taylor of Evans and Wilson of England each opened with 8-over-par 78 in today's first round at Oakland Hills Golf Club in Bloomfield Township, Mich. They are currently tied for 140th place.

Taylor stood at 3-over-par through 14 holes but ran into trouble. He closed with three bogeys and a double.

Wilson shot 7-over on seven holes midway through his round and never recovered.

Robert Karlsson and Jeev Milkha Singh hold the clubhouse at 68.

Other golfers of interest who've completed their rounds include: Sergio Garcia (69), Phil Mickelson (70), Jim Furyk (71), Steve Stricker (71) and Boo Weekley (72).

Other area golfers still on the course include: Brian Gay (2-under through eight) and Charles Howell (Even through six holes).
