Monsanto Co. announced today that it is pursuing a divestiture of its dairy product, Posilac, which is produced at its Augusta facility.

Posilac is bovine somatotropin, which increases milk production in cows. Monsanto spokeswoman Danielle Jany said the sale of the product would also mean the sale of the Augusta facility.

The company has no timeline nor suitors for the sales, she said. The Augusta facility employs 200 people.
