Man arrested in sexual assault of girl

A 45-year-old Warrenville, S.C., man has been arrested by Aiken County authorities after being accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Phillip E. Jones, of the 100 block of Wayland Street, is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor – second degree and three counts of lewd act upon a minor, according to an Aiken County Sheriff's Office news release.

Mr. Jones is accused of sexually assaulting the girl at a home in Beech Island between October 2007 and July 2008, the release states.

Mr. Jones is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.
