A 45-year-old Harlem man died this morning from injuries sustained in a single vehicle wreck outside Grovetown.

Robert Owen, of the 6100 block of Harlem Grovetown Road, was traveling east on Harlem Grovetown Road in a GMC Suburban at about 7 a.m. when the wreck occurred, Columbia County sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris said.

Mr. Owen was about a mile outside Grovetown when his vehicle drifted off the roadway. Mr. Owen over-corrected, causing the Suburban to roll over at least three times, Capt. Morris said.

Mr. Owen was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to Medical College of Georgia Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins said.

Mr. Owen's 14-year-old son, Chandler, was also taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, Capt. Morris said.
