Deputies arrested a man they say snatched money from a cash register at a Gordon Highway convenience store Saturday night.

Richmond County sheriff's Investigator William Leisey said Octavius Nequel Partlow, 32, was arrested and charged with robbery by sudden snatch. He is being held at the Richmond County jail.

Investigator Leisey said officers believe Mr. Partlow entered the J.P. Food Mart at 1635 Gordon Highway about 6 p.m., and took an undisclosed amount of money. Witnesses told officers that Mr. Partlow fled to a nearby motel room. Officers arrested him at the motel, Investigator Leisey said.
