GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mrs. Pearl Stephens Griffin, 98, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the Golden Living Center, Augusta, Ga. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, January 8, 2010, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Pastor Rich Bowman officiating. Entombment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The Visitation will be held on Friday in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel from 1:00 PM until time of service. Mrs. Griffin was born in Tifton, Georgia and was a longtime resident of Grovetown. She was retired from White's Nursing Home and was a member the New Hope Worship Center. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Mitchell Griffin and three sons Alvah Griffin, Robert Griffin and Talmadge Griffin. Survivors include one daughter, Thelma Dixon Starr, Fitzgerald, Ga.; five sons, Wilbert (Jean) Griffin, Belvedere, SC, Leon (Sue) Griffin, North Augusta, SC, Vinson(Dianne) Griffin, Augusta, Marvin (Eve) Griffin, Augusta and Jerry (Donna) Griffin of Grovetown and 19 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
