Man takes wife's body to police in truck bed

DECATUR --- Officials have arrested a Tucker man who they say drove to police headquarters with his wife's body in the bed of his pickup and told them he killed her.

DeKalb County Police Chief William O'Brien said Dennis Ronald Allaben, 46, visited relatives in Virginia and told them about the killing before driving two days to Clayton County and turning himself in.

Chief O'Brien said Wednesday that police found the body of 43-year-old Maureen Allaben in the truck bed. He said no signs of struggle or other evidence of a slaying was found at the couple's home.

Mr. Allaben was booked into the DeKalb County Jail on felony murder charges Tuesday. Chief O'Brien could not say why Mr. Allaben killed his wife, who had worked as a commercial photographer.

Missing boy turns up; criminal act uncertain

ALBANY --- Authorities say a 9-year-old boy who was missing for a night has been found and they are interviewing him and a possible witness.

Albany police say Jyquez Miller, who was last seen leaving school Tuesday afternoon, was found near his home about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say they have not determined whether a criminal act was involved in the boy's disappearance. They said they are discounting a woman's claims that she saw a mysterious motorist drop the boy off at his family's home.

Search teams looked for the boy all night as temperatures dropped to 16 degrees.
