Pols, constituents on collision course

  • Follow Letters

The country has a deficit of more than $2 trillion. It is projected to grow to more than $12 trillion in coming years! Social Security has been on the verge of collapse for a number of years, but Democrats would allow no fix, instead using any attempt to rescue it as a political weapon.

Medicare is at least $50 trillion in deficit, and possibly as much as $100 trillion! It is projected to be completely insolvent in six years Yet, $470 billion was taken from Medicare to fund portions of the new health bill! Congress has authorized, and the president has signed, an additional $155 billion for "job creation." Government jobs? We now are dependent on communist China to fund our debt!

In order to get to 60 Senate votes to pass the abominable health care bill, Democrats have acted like ladies of the night plying their trade and have prostituted their votes. This is bribery, but the Justice Department is too corrupt to act!

Are there any Democrats with integrity? Are there any who listen to their constituents? Are there any who put country above party? Are there any with respect for taxpayer money? Apparently not!

This is all about satisfying the narcissistic ego of one man. The president himself has no allegiance to, nor love for, this country, and obviously sees America as an evil presence in the world. He just dares not say it aloud. When he sat for 20 years at the feet of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who constantly damned America, he was surely in total agreement with everything the minister was saying.

This administration and this Congress, by their arrogant abuses of power, have set themselves on a collision course with the people they are supposed to govern, and whose consent it is supposed to seek!

Robert Smock, Hephzibah

The usual Chicken Little

The usual Chicken Little quarreling about domestic spending but he doesn't have a problem with war cost and defense waste. That's just wholesome Americanism!

National defense is bad? What

National defense is bad? What kind of reasoning is that? Well, we had a whiplash affect after suffering through Carter and I certainly expect the same after suffering through this Obama mistake. 2010 will slow the train until 2012 can save the country. I just hope it's in time to undo a lot of this mess. Luckily, some Dem senators are resigning before the final health care vote. I guess some of them DO have integrity.

johnston.cliff - the US spend

johnston.cliff - the US spend as much money on defense as the rest of the world combined and you don't think there's anything wrong with that? Moreover, if you're keeping up with the news, the RNC chairman doubts the party can take control of the House in the 2010 election and more ominous, folks are not donating to the GOP. The Democrats are collecting money at an 18 to one advantage over the GOP.

gasp, I don't keep up with

gasp, I don't keep up with CNN news, but I do suffer through some NPR news programs. In reality, the likelyhood of rescuing the house is slight, but the senate will no longer have a filibuster proof majority and might not even have a simple majority. That will stifle the mad Marxist until the 2012 can end this horrible experiment. All is not yet lost. America MUST have something to hope for. If cap and trade or Obamacare pass, this will cease to be a democratic republic.

Mr. Smock, you are a great

Mr. Smock, you are a great american sir. Your letter is spot on, and pretty well sums up the coming election. There will be a reckoning with the voting public, rest assured. Those whose bidding has been completely ignored will have their day. I have posted here before about those that will have their long political careers truncated abruptly in the next election, so I wont rehash it. It is indeed interesting though, that career politicians are willing to follow Mr. Hussein's agenda like lemmings, right over the cliff. I just look forward to the day when I hear Harry and Nancy give their speech congratulating their worthy oponents that just cleaned their clocks at the polls. Oh Happy Day!

johnston.cliff at 6:48 - The

johnston.cliff at 6:48 - The EPA is probably the best method for dealing with atmospheric pollution. So it's not necessary for Congress to pass any bill which wouldn't be anything other than the usual appeasements for special interest. I suspect congressional people will breath a sigh of relief too! Let the EPA and the courts can get the job done and Congress can avoid the heat.
