Candidate has right skills to serve

I support Harold Jones II as our next state senator. It has truly been an honor and privilege to observe and get to know Harold for many years.

One aspect that has always impressed me is Harold's unwavering commitment to his family, community and profession. A graduate of Glenn Hills Comprehensive High School, he implemented the Harold Jones Social Studies Award, which goes to a senior planning to major in political science in college. This shows his commitment to his community and his willingness to motivate and cultivate a new generation of potential public servants.

This example also serves as a small sample of just how Harold views his role in the Augusta community -- a role based on giving back and helping others. His passion and selflessness is certainly a rare commodity in a political and cultural climate of cynicism. He has proven his ability to work with others, completing training for both Leadership Augusta and Leadership Georgia, and serving as president of the Greater Augusta Arts Council.

Lastly, Harold has the experience to be our next state senator -- serving for many years as solicitor general, overseeing a department that handles more than 35,000 criminal cases per year. He has a commitment to faith and family, and an unwavering support and dedication to community and profession.

The people of Augusta and the state of Georgia will be well-served when Harold Jones II is sworn in as the next state senator for District 22.

Leroy Rogers, Augusta

The only good thing about

The only good thing about Harold Jones running for District 22 is that we NO LONGER have to put up with his antics in the solicitors office. The way he treated his employees in the solicitors office was a shame. After he loses this election then we will never have to stand for his unprofessionalism again. Hopefully he will go quietly away.

Once again, 4 cases out of

Once again, 4 cases out of 35,000 is not a backlog. Will anyone ever look at the numbers? What did Jones do to his employees ?? Harold is the man for Senate 22. Or would you prefer a minister who subscribes to "prosperity theology". Politics and religion should never mix.

Greetings All, Good to see

Greetings All, Good to see some support show up for democrat candidate Jones. Unfortunately, it appears that democrat candidate Davis is in much better shape for the closing days of this special election in terms of walking around money for the GOTV effort on 5 January. Between the two of them they have raised over $110,000 for this oh so short campaign and spent about $66K of it so far. According to the State Ethics commission website financial reports from 12/31/09, democrat candidate Davis has about $32K left in the kitty as opposed to $11k for democrat candidate Jones. That's serious gap with almost no time left for Jones to catch up. The only bright spot in this special election is the fact that Libertarian Taylor Bryant is on the ballot and independents and conservatives in Augusta have the opportunity to finally get some representation at the State Senate. Had about all the democrat change you can stand? Then vote for Taylor Bryant. Want Lower Taxes? Then vote for Taylor Bryant. Think that common sense solutions are the way to go? Then vote for Taylor Bryant. On January 5th, go to the polls and Vote for Taylor Bryant!

Want a runoff? Vote for

Want a runoff? Vote for Taylor Bryant. Want the best man for the job? Vote for Harold Jones. Want to make a mistake to fix next November? Vote for Hardie Davis. Don't just vote because a certain crowd has chosen somebody for the job. This an opportunity for Augustans to chose the right man for the job because he has the necessary ingredients to become a very good Senator. Education, degree, experience, judgement, and character. Vote for Harold Jones.

DuhJudge, I'm happy you think

DuhJudge, I'm happy you think education is important. I guess Harold fell asleep in economics class. While I'm sure he does a bang up job as a lawyer, he fails to be a leader, opting for the forceful ruler classification. I am from the school of hard knocks (and Aiken Tech) and will unoppressively lead us into freedom and posterity, without the over reaching hand of government. Remember, Chiquita Johnson has her law degree too. Just as an example. Thanks! Vote TAYLOR BRYANT!
