AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Frances Evans Dozier entered into rest on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 19, 2009 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Ferneyhough officiating. Burial will follow in Blythe United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bill Evans, Rick Duggar, Melvin Evans, Gary Dozier, William Dozier, Charles Dozier and Tim Browning will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Dozier was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Dozier; parents, Thurston and Ethel Evans; brother and sister-in-law James and Evelyn Duke Evans, all of Matthew, Georgia and brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Lucille Prescott Evans of Lexington, Georgia. Mrs. Dozier lived in Blythe most of her adult life and was a member of Blythe United Methodist Church where she taught children in Sunday School. She was recognized in 1993 for her many years of service by the United Methodist Women. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Blythe United Methodist Church. She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Robert E. Duggar, Augusta; one brother and sister-in-law, Pilcher and Bernice Smith, Anderson, South Carolina and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10 - 11 AM, one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia.
