An Appling man faces weapons charges after being arrested at Byrd Elementary School in Graniteville, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

About 9:30 a.m. Wednesday sheriff's deputies responded to a report that someone had a weapon on school property. At the school, deputies learned Mr. Annis had pointed a pistol at Steve Moore, who had pointed a finger and touched Mr. Annis' shoulder, sheriff's Sgt. Dave Myers said.

When she opened the door, a man wearing a mask forced his way inside, pointed a gun at her and demanded money. The robbers took cash and cell phones, then forced the victim, her boyfriend and their 2-year-old son, into a bathroom.

Just because someone knocks

Just because someone knocks on your door does not mean you have to open it at all!!!!! Never open your door to strangers!!
Talk through the door! And, teach your children to NOT open the door either.

Popie....what if there is no husband/boyfriend? Instead of answering the door, holler back to the person knocking that you've called the police to come and handle whatever incident they claim has happened. They may not claim car accident, could be some other kind of 'emergency'. And be sure to holler loud enough that they hear you....if they think no one is home they may decide it's ok to break in.
