My sister's house has been hit twice, also, but on 2 different occasions. They (the city) ended up putting a guardrail up in front of her house.
Authorities say heavy fog probably contributed to a Beech Island house being hit by vehicles twice Monday morning.
Won Choi, 49, of the 100 block of Coachman Drive, was driving east on Dixie Clay Road about 1:30 a.m. when he drove through a stop sign at the intersection with Pine Log Road and struck the home, according to Lance Cpl. Judd Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Mr. Choi was charged with driving under the influence and was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
His wife, 44-year-old Eiane Choi, was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
About five hours later, a car driven by Hawkin Russell, 46, of Warrenville, ran the same stop sign and struck the house at 772 Pine Log Road in Beech Island.
Mr. Russell was charged with disregarding a stop sign, Lance Cpl. Jones said. Authorities said they think the foggy weather contributed to both accidents.
The owner of the house, Leola Crytzer, says that while this is the first time that vehicles have hit her house, they have come into her yard before.
Ms. Crytzer says she thinks the problem stems from the fact that some drivers turning off Dixie Clay Road ignore the stop sign, either because they are driving under the influence or because they are in a hurry.
"The mailbox has been knocked down and replaced many times, and they have run into the yard and left tire tracks," Ms. Crytzer said. "I'm going to talk to the highway department. They need to do something about this."

Sounds like a good idea for this house also.
I think the County should do the right thing and put 2-3 of those huge concrete barriers used while working on roadways across from the intersection to help Ms Srytzer out. Think that would be a Christmas gift to remember.
how do people miss that stop sign....it is huge, as well as the one at the end of Huber Clay Road. Too many people are always speeding on the back roads, hitting houses and power poles leaving residents without power way too much. Slow down people.
The county should put up flashing lights with signs that say "Stop Ahead" and maybe even grate sections of the road in increments before drivers ever make it to the intersection. The lights and the noise from running over the grated asphalt should be enough warning to drivers. A guardrail and jersey wall would also add extra protection for the homeowner.
This would be a great place for a drive-thru.
Can you imagine the mess these homeowners will face with the car driver's insurance companies?? Unless 2 seperate parts of the property were hit, I can see these insurance companies argueing about which one was responsible for paying most of the cost for repairs! Then, if needed, the homeowner's insurance company would get involved, pay the thing, and then duke it out with the other 2 companies. Good grief!
