State dinner is just a day in Obamaland

  • Follow Letters

Regarding President Obama's recent first state dinner: Well, it is obvious that Obama is oblivious to what is going on in this country. Of course he hasn't been in this country during most of his term.

Former presidents have had their state dinners, and I guess taxpayers shouldn't mind digging deeper into our wallets to fund Obama's. They claim the planning had taken months for this one, and of course the first lady had to wear a designer gown.

Just because our economy has gone south -- and many of you are unemployed with Christmas coming up while figuring out how you're going to pay your 2009 taxes -- doesn't matter. The royalty must have their due!

Welcome to the Kingdom of Obamaland!

William Zimmerman

Obama is well within preset

Obama is well within preset limits of state protocol. There was nothing exceptionally extravagant about his first state dinner. With all of the shenanigans he's pulling, his entertainment exercises are the least of my worries.

The level of ignorance...and
Unpublished

The level of ignorance...and the level of hatred is gonna drive some non-minority males insane. Their real problem is that the president is graceful and humble about his responsibility. He is also classy and intelligent which drives certain males like ol' Will, along with Beck & Rush, completely insane. They will say almost ANYTHING. The letter proves it. These guys have gotta get a grip or they won't make it through the second term because of health reasons.

justus4, it's pretty obvious there will be no "2nd term", but we DO have to find a way to survive the only term.

Justus4, A humble, graceful,

Justus4, A humble, graceful, classy, intelligent president he is not. He does not know the meaning of the word humble and is arrogant and classless (as in presenting DVDs to a world leader). There seems to be no one to teach him protocol, I am sure it was ok for him, personally, but he did not speak for Americans when he did so, to bow to a king with whom he shares beliefs, but in Japan he embarassed not only us but the Japanese with his bowing.
As for being intelligen, well, I would say a better word is sly. He was sly to make one of his first acts as president having all of his records sealed so we could not easily determine his place of birth, extent of education or to view his passport. At a time when Americans were not allowed to travel to a muslim country, he was able to do that.
I suppose to anyone as dumb as Justus4, Obama could look intelligent, but for those of us with brains, well, you know what they are saying, "Somewhere in Kenya a village is missing its idiot."
And while I am at it, why do the media keep making a fool of that poor, line-backer built first female who looks horrible in in too small sweaters and WW Championship belt she uses in place of a bra?

He is the best community organizer we ever had for president. He even got a nobel peace for it because he was not president long enough to get one for that.

Obama did not cause the lost

Obama did not cause the lost of jobs but he is trying to get as many people back to work as possible. Being president bring certain responsibilities. One of them is to have state dinners. Every president has held state dinners. Why not Obama. He is being blamed for the condition of the country afte being in office for just 11 months. Did our country go from riches to rags in just 11 months, or did this began 8 years ago when Bush became president? If you open your eyes and use your head, you will realize that our country did not get where it is in just 11 months.

That's right, when you host a

That's right, when you host a state dinners for leaders of other countries, Faded Glory is the way to go. Or Jaclyn Smith. Of course, those clothes is made overseas, but American all the way, OK! And they should put in orders with Little Ceasar's pizzas and their 2-for-1 specials to feed everyone. And of course, the leaders of those countries would then have no problems having diplomatic relationships with us, or buying our products- which would put food on the table of Americans. Insult your guests, that'll bring them back everytime! Hey people, when the dinner invite from Billy Zimmerman comes in, send regrets. You'll be better off.

Thank you Obama for making George W. Bush look like a genius. I've noticed you are adopting most of his policies and now have adopted the Bush agenda. If we could get you to tell the truth, you could grow to be a Republican.

When did a prior President

When did a prior President have so many state dinner guests that they had to erect a tent to accommodate it? Where were all those movie stars, other celebrities at orior Presidents "state" dinners? I'd say it was mora a "state" party at tax payer expense than a state dinner.
