WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Miller Gilchrist entered into rest on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at University Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 2 p.m. at B. A. Williams Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at McElmurray Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Burke County. Mr. Gilchrist, a native of Burke County, was employed with Lily Tulip for ten years. and retired from Monsanto Chemical Company after twenty years of service. He was also operator and owner of Gilchrist Trucking. Survivors are his wife, Evelyn Gilchrist; two daughters, Terry (James) Dunbar, Martinez, GA, Theresa (Pierre) Hill, Augusta; three sons, Miller Gilchrist, Jr., Augusta, Jerry (Ava) Gilchrist, Acworth, GA, Todd (Tonya) Gilchrist, Statesboro, GA; three sisters, Thelma Robinson, Augusta, Willie Mae Gilchrist, Providence, RI; one brother, Alphonso Mathis, Augusta; eleven grandchildren; two stepsons; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
