I agree with the letter by Lawrence Smith concerning "political correctness" being taken too far ("Don't ignore potential Muslim threat," Nov. 25).
How tolerant and far are patriotic Americans and Christians supposed to bend over backward for fear of offending someone's religion or feelings? How about the ridicule that was cast upon Jesus and His believers ?
I can respect and be tolerant of Muslims, Buddhists or whomever else who want to become a part of the American culture and freedoms, which were paid for with the blood of thousands of servicemen and women. However. I have no tolerance for a "religion" in which it is OK for a father to murder his daughter because she became a Christian, or a husband wants the right to beat his wife with a stick if she disobeys him, since that was a part of his religion back home -- or those who teach/practice that all who do not accept Islam are infidels and deserve to be killed. Many have fled their homelands to get away from such practices.
Patriotic Americans and Christians should no longer be the silent majority concerning those who want such so-called "religious" practices to be acceptable in America.
Also:
- I am sick and tired of those of other religions, and atheists, interfering with the rights and practices of millions of us of the Judeo-Christian religions, which were that of our nation's Founding Fathers, You don't want you or your child to participate in prayer, Bible reading or the Pledge of Allegiance, or see a Nativity scene? Close your ears. Step out in the hall. Go to the other side of the street. Talk about the tail wagging the dog -- this is what we have yielded to sinc eatheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair, and it's time for it to be stopped.
- We have plenty of oil and natural gas under our soil. We are idiots to buy from those who like our dollars, but hate us. Al Gore's manmade global warming is a big lie.
- I resent everything I buy having "Made in China" stamped on it. I think it is time for us to reopen some factories in America. This would go a long way in solving our employment and economic problems.

There ARE radical christians, but the passages I posted are from the Quran and are intended to be followed by ALL Muslims. The "peaceful" Muslims are the one's who are radical.
Why is a Christian who opposes the killing of babies considered Radical and a religion that says kill all who disagree peaceful ? Splain that one

When you think about religous tolerance with Islam ask yourself one question. How many Christian churches or Jewish synagoges are located in Saudi Arabia. The answer is zero. How is that for tolerance.

Strange, all the Bibles I have contain both testaments. It seems the creation story that the right wing Christians want taught as science is from the Old Testament. The 10 Commandments they want plastered all over courthouses are from the same. You cherry pick verses that are unappealing from another religion's holy book, then choose to ignore those in your own. How about the Q'uran:2:256 'Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Tolerance for Christians is everywhere. Christians have managed to get Abstinence Only Education in the schools, Intelligent design taught as science, have slowly eroded abortion rights, and have been instrumental in stopping gay marriage. Putting up a menorah next to the Nativity Scene or changing the Morning Prayer to a moment of silence is small potatoes; can't you just let those damned atheists and Non-Christians have that at least? Since they are going to hell anyway....
I really don't believe that there is actually any tolerant religions out there today!
