AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, November 29, 2009, at the Georgia War Veteran's Home, Mr. Leonard Anthony Kleskie, 90, husband of the late Dorothy "Treasure" Glenn Lundy Hixon Kleskie. Mr. Kleskie was a native of Shamokin, PA but had resided in Augusta since 1959. Mr. Kleskie was very proud to serve his country for 24 years in the U.S. Army Infantry. He served in WW II and Korea. Mr. Kleskie was very appreciative of all his caregivers: the staff of Elmcroft Assisted Living, Georgia War Veteran's Nursing Home, and special friends, Gene and Fern Kowalczyk. He attended St. Mary-on- the-Hill Catholic Church and appreciated the kindness shown to him by the members. Family members include two stepsons: Donald G. Hixon and wife Beverly of Martinez, Gerald W. Hixon of Savannah; brother: Edwin Kleskie of Spartanburg, SC and his sister: Mildred Oliver of Lansdale, PA; and step grandchildren: Travis Hixon, Julie Hixon, and Wayne Hixon, Jr. Graveside services will be held today, Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Westover Memorial Park.
