AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Julia Freeman, 80, of 1840 Derby Dr., entered into rest Friday, November 27, 2009, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009, at McKinney Branch Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Ga., with Rev. L. E. Jones officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 11:45 a.m. at 1840 Derby Dr., Augusta. Remains will lie in state at noon. Viewing will be held 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009, in Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Julia was predeceased by one devoted son, Lawrence Freeman; one brother, Rev. J. E. Freeman; and one sister, Daisy Freeman. She leaves to cherish: one brother, Clarence Freeman, Waycross, Ga.; two daughters, Vickie Dingle, Cathy (Anthony) Freeman Greene, both of Augusta; three sons, Rev. Robert (Annie) Freeman, Sr., Donald Freeman, Jefferey (Yolanda) Freeman, all of Augusta; two godchildren, Shelton Bruns Milner, Charles, S.C. and Gwen Bruns Volen, Ponte Vedra, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
