Police say man admits killing Warrenville man

A Graniteville man has confessed to killing a Warrenville man whose body was found Friday morning, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.

Pete Joel Williams, 32, of the 100 block of Williams Street, was arrested Friday night. He was also charged with burglary first degree and armed robbery, sheriff's Sgt. Dave Myers said in an e-mail Saturday.

The body of John Barrs was discovered by his caretaker at his Warrenville home about 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Two Augusta residents robbed on walk home

Two Augusta residents told police they were robbed about midnight Friday.

According to a Richmond County sheriff's report, the man and woman were walking home from their jobs at Lucky Trip Gas Station, 2260 Lumpkin Road, when two men approached them at Shelby Drive and Hummingbird Lane and pointed handguns.

The woman said her purse, which contained $142 in cash, keys to the Lucky Trip Gas Station, prescription medications and a cell phone, was taken. The man's cell phone also was taken.

One of the robbers was described as black, 6 feet 2 inches tall, about 180 pounds with long dreadlocks. The other was described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds. Both were wearing all black and had black masks over their faces.

The robbers might have been driving a silver four-door car that they have seen near the business around closing time.

Man arrested in armed robbery of store Friday

One man has been arrested in an armed robbery of an Augusta convenience store Friday morning.

According to jail committals, Mario Marcell Green, 25, was arrested Friday night in the armed robbery of the Kangaroo Express at 3001 Deans Bridge Road. The convenience store was robbed about 12:20 a.m. Friday by two men, according to a Richmond County sheriff's report.

The victim said the men entered the store carrying pistols. One said, "I'm going to shoot somebody -- give it up," as he approached the counter.

The victim gave him the money from the cash register, and the man told him to give him the money from the box under the counter. The second man stayed by the door.

Why are we posting these "thieves" as if they did something wrong. They were in need and they supplied the need. The HOMOSEXUAL community has determined that Biblical Sin is a non issue. These THIEVES should be embraced for their broadmindedness and allowed to take up the "offerings" at the HOMOSEXUAL CHURCH. The daycare can be run by CHILD MOLESTERS expressing their sexual preference.
