GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- Tim Tebow accounted for three touchdowns and Brandon Spikes returned an interception for a score, and No. 1 Florida beat Florida International 62-3 on Saturday to extend the nation's longest winning streak to 21 games.
Florida improved to 11-0 for only the second time in school history and needs two more wins -- against Florida State next week and Alabama in the SEC title game -- to earn a shot at repeating as national champion.
The Gators scored TDs on eight of 10 offensive possessions against FIU (3-8), and the only scoreless drives came when Caleb Sturgis missed a 52-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter and when Florida ran out the clock in the final seconds.
NO. 2 ALABAMA 45, CHATTANOOGA 0
In Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mark Ingram ran for 102 yards and two long touchdowns in the first half, and the Crimson Tide raced to a 35-0 halftime lead in an easy tuneup.
That enabled many of the starters to take a break in the second half against the Mocs (6-5), although Ingram and Alabama still managed to turn in a few highlight-reel plays.
Ingram ran for TDs of 25 and 40 yards, and Javier Arenas set the SEC career record with his seventh punt return for a touchdown for the Tide (11-0). Julio Jones caught a 44-yard pass and scored on a 19-yarder from Greg McElroy.
TENNESSEE 31, VANDERBILT 16
In Knoxville, Tenn., Jonathan Crompton threw for two touchdowns as Tennessee beat its in-state rival.
The Volunteers (6-5, 3-4 Southeastern Conference) became bowl-eligible with the victory. The Commodores (2-10, 0-8) finished without a conference win for the first time since 2002.
Vanderbilt had a chance to tie the game before halftime but stalled on fourth-and-2 at the Tennessee 38 with 51 seconds left. Instead, Tennessee drove for a quick touchdown to go up 24-10.
Crompton finished 20 for 34 for 221 yards with an interception. Montario Hardesty ran for a career-high 171 yards and a touchdown.
ARKANSAS 42, MISSISSIPPI STATE 21
In Little Rock, Ark., Ryan Mallett threw for 313 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Razorbacks (7-4, 3-4 SEC) over the Bulldogs.
Mallett's final touchdown pass was his 28th of the season, a school record. Clint Stoerner held the old mark of 26.
Anthony Dixon rushed for 176 yards for Mississippi State (4-7, 2-5), which was eliminated from bowl contention.
