Thomas Jefferson makes title game

LOUISVILLE, Ga.--- Austin Dressell scored two rushing touchdowns to lead Thomas Jefferson Academy into the GISA Class A state title game with a 30-24 victory over Fullington on Friday night.

Dressell scored on runs of 6 and 14 yards.

The Jaguars will take on Terrell Academy on Friday in Dawson, Ga., for the title.

Taylor Barrentine led Thomas Jefferson with 96 yards rushing.

Barrentine also had a touchdown run of 31 yards.

In Sandersville, Ga., Damon Harris' second-quarter run for Brentwood capped a memorable touchdown drive that stood up for a victory over Southwest Georgia Academy in the GISA Class AA semifinals.

Harris scored from 13 yards out to give Brentwood a 13-8 lead with 2:12 to play before the half. The drive covered 96 yards in seven plays.

There was no scoring in the second half.

Brentwood's first-quarter touchdown came on Evan Wiggins' 7-yard run.

Brentwood will take on Memorial Day, a 22-14 winner over Edmund Burke.
