The Lady Mocs (1-2) were paced by 20 points from Shanara Hollinquest and 15 by Jenaya Wade-Fray.

Houts, who grew up 15 minutes from Chattanooga in Trenton, Ga., led the Lady Bulldogs (2-0) back from a halftime deficit.

Chattanooga led 36-33 at the break but Georgia opened the second half on a 14-3 run, with Houts scoring 10 points. The Lady Mocs pulled within four on two occasions later in the game.

Georgia responded with a 12-4 spurt to open a 12-point cushion with 3:53 to play. James capped the run by swishing a 3-pointer from the left wing and giving a quick fist pump.

In East Lansing, Mich., Ashley Barlow scored 18 points and hit a tiebreaking free throw with 10 seconds left, lifting Notre Dame to victory.

Allyssa DeHaan led Michigan State (1-2) with 20 points.

Michigan State trailed 45-35 when DeHaan limped off the court with an apparent ankle injury early in the second half. The Spartans, sparked by their defense and forcing turnovers, went on a 15-2 tear immediately afterward to grab a 50-47 lead with 11:52 remaining.

DeHaan returned and increased Michigan State's lead to 56-51 with a basket with about 10 minutes to go. But the Irish regained the lead with an 8-0 run capped by Erica Williamson's layup with 8:41 left.
