Pedestrian in hospital after donkey bit him

A man was hospitalized Thursday after he said a pet donkey owned by a neighbor bit him numerous times.

The donkey, which Augusta Animal Services took away to its shelter, had reportedly bit three people over the past two days, said director Diane Downs.

The last victim was taken to University Hospital on Thursday for a busted nose, and bites to his chest, arms and sides, Ms. Downs said.

The man said he was walking on Sims Avenue about 3 p.m. when the donkey got stuck trying to jump a fence. The victim said the animal attacked him after he tried to help it, Ms. Downs said.

Animal Services charged the donkey's owner, Robert Leverett, of the 2300 block of Tubman Home Road, with livestock running at large. Ms. Downs said that the donkey will be kept at the shelter until a hearing is held for Mr. Leverette on Jan. 7.

Officer Cameron was arrested Wednesday and is accused of pulling his girlfriend out of a vehicle and throwing her on the ground, according to a sheriff's report. The victim had a bruise on the right side of her head, according to the report.

Officer Cameron and the victim were involved in an argument, and had wrecked their vehicle near the Windsor Fire Department on Middleton Road, before the incident. He has been with the department for three years, Lt. Pearson said.

Rolling Eyes

You've got to wonder what the odds are that you'd become hospitalized because of a donkey attack.............

happychimer

So other posters can say those INITIALS but a democrat can't. I will go through the comments and click the ! for everyone that said those initials this week.

happychimer

The officer is scum because he pulled a woman out of the car and threw her to the ground.Any male who beats a woman is trash.

TakeAstand

If he did it, he deserves to be punished by all means. I have seen far to many crazy women though flat out lie about things like this. I'll wait for more info before concluding anything.

TakeAstand

APirates, was that meant to be an insult to our law enforcement officers? If it was, you're an idiot!

TakeAstand

happy, if you are referring to my favorite initials I use on here too, then it does happen. Every now and then it gets removed. Sometimes it is because of what was wrote with it, like a judgement on how they should be punished... hehehe. Not sure what yours said, but there are some people on here that remove posts for it, not just yours, but mine too. I think it depends on who's moderating. lol

happychimer

TakeAstand here is the comment without the initials.

TakeAstand

Yeah happy, thats about what mine have said when they have removed it for no reason. Either it depends on the moderator or its automatic when a lame poster with nothing better to do reports it just because they don't like you to be an a$%. I had one removed one time and I didn't even use my fav initials. It was something like. "I hope they catch this guy, someone knows who he is, please turn him in." I was like wth!! lol

corgimom

TakeaStand, I quoted a Frank Sinatra song's lyrics to a song that was written in 1924 and it got pulled.

TakeAstand

Now nothing at all was wrong with my post. All it said was one time I was violated for writing, I hope they catch the guy and puts him in jail where he belongs. Some chicken crap that works for the AC is eveidently abusing their authority. Stop playing games and do your job moron. Show yourself coward. I hope they find and fire you. As soon as I can prove what you are doing, your boss will be notified. What did I insult one of your criminal relatives one time?
