my sentiments exactly betty..the problem with rich gov'ts is that spouses feel they are entitled to the seat. they come riding incumbent coattails but little knowledge of what it will take to govern/legislate effectively(strong foundation in civic, government, history economics and finance) so the only thing they can do is carry on with the status quo...this is why the gov't and school board makes poor decisions regarding spending, the budgetary process and education. it also reforces the mindset of "what is only good for my district, as opposed to what is best for and will move augusta forward to keep up with other cities in the csra). i have yet to hear what she would do to control spending(other than layoff teachers, parapros, bus drivers etc), declining enrollment, insufficent number of textbooks/supplies, high drop-out rates, poor test scores and a failure by all traditional high school to meet ayp(outside of increasing taxes to pay for useless, wasteful and ineffective programs).so the only option left is to continiously raise taxes, even if it means eliminating h/s exemption or getting permission from the state to raise the mill rate even higher...enuff facts ms. cain??
