AUGUSTA, Ga. - Augusta resident, Miriam White, 65, died November 13, 2009 at Doctor's Hospital where she had worked for over 20 years. Ms. White was born in Burke County, GA to Robert Lott and Annie Palmer Lott. She graduated from Lucy Laney in June of 1962 and moved to New York where she married Willie Herman Douglas and worked at Macy's Department store. She was married twice after. Miriam has two children, William (Lonetta) Douglas, Jr. and Kimberly (Elbert) Hood. She also has 9 grandchildren: Giovonna, Shyese, William, Jasmine, Jade, Tiffany, Ashley, Courtney, and Kaitlyn. Miriam is survived by her three sisters: Roberta Lott Long and Anne Williams, who reside in Anchorage, Alaska and Brenda White who resides in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Linda Mills, her other sister, preceded her in death in Augusta of 2008. Miriam is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Miriam was a loving and giving person who enjoyed helping others. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to gospel music, shopping, and playing solitaire. Funeral services will be conducted this Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at Thankful Baptist Church with Reverend Matrice Mims officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
