Burton gets win at Belle Meade event
In Thomson, Kelby Burton shot 3-under-par 69 to win an Augusta Junior Golf Magazine Tour event at Belle Meade by four strokes on Saturday. Ethan Chamineak came in second place in the boys 15-18 division.
Other division winners included Cooper Martin (boys 13-14), who shot 79; Walker Bottomley (boys 11-12), who had 72; Will Radford (boys 9-10), who carded 41 in nine holes; and Dillon Hite (8-under), who shot 37.
Winners in the girls division were Brittney Jackson (15-18); Sarah Harrison (12-14), who edged Megan Sabol in a playoff; Lara-Alexis Marie (9-11); and Jensen Castle (8-under).
Volleyball
Flagler rolls to title in PBC Tournament
In Aiken, top-seeded Flagler swept second-seeded Armstrong Atlantic State 3-0 to win the Peach Belt Conference Volleyball Tournament on Sunday.
The Saints, who also won the regular-season title, will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with the 25-22, 25-18, 25-23 victory, their 25th in a row.

Kozlov's goal leads Thrashers to victory
In Atlanta, Slava Kozlov broke out of his slump with his first goal of the season, and the Thrashers beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 for their fourth win in a row.
- In Raleigh, N.C., Jussi Jokinen scored the winning goal in the shootout, and the Hurricanes beat the Wild 5-4 to end a 14-game winless streak.
- In Chicago, Brent Seabrook scored 41 seconds into overtime, lifting the Blackhawks to a 4-3 victory over the Sharks, their seventh in a row at home.

Deal with Patrick denied by Hendrick
Rick Hendrick said he has no deal to bring IndyCar superstar Danica Patrick to NASCAR, and there's no certainty she'll even be driving stock cars next season.
Patrick is reportedly in the final stages of a contract that would partner her on a limited Nationwide Series schedule with JR Motorsports. He co-owns that team with Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Sport institutes ban on Argentina coach
FIFA banned Diego Maradona from all soccer activities for two months for the Argentina's coach expletive-filled rants after his team qualified for the World Cup.
A disciplinary panel for the governing body heard Maradona give evidence during a three-hour hearing before excluding him from soccer until Jan. 15.

Phelps misses out on setting records
Racing in an old-style swimsuit and with little practice, Michael Phelps didn't join the swimmers in high-tech suits who set world records at two short-course World Cup meets this week.
Phelps had to settle for second place in the 200-meter individual final behind Darian Townsend of South Africa, who broke one of the 16 world records set in two days of competition in Berlin.

Djokovic wins first Paris Masters title
Third-seeded Novak Djokovic scrambled to a 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (3) victory over local favorite Gael Monfils to win the Paris Masters for the first time.
Djokovic has won back-to-back ATP Tour titles after his win over top-ranked Roger Federer in the Swiss Indoors final.

Korean holds on to take Skate America
Kim Yu-na , the world champion from South Korea, won her second consecutive Skate America title despite losing the free skate to American Rachael Flatt in Lake Placid, N.Y. Julia Sebestyen of Hungary finished third.
