Political correctness holds reality hostage

  • Follow Letters

Facts: One man stands accused of murdering 13 people and wounding 30 others. He is a U.S. Army officer and a Muslim. Tragic for the families -- but still murder.

After 9-11, did American Muslim leaders speak out against this destruction and murder of thousands by Muslims? Mostly silence.

The twisted rope of political correctness is unraveling when truth and facts enter into events and can no longer be ignored. In past wars with other nations, American Japanese and Germans fought gallantly alongside their compatriots -- for America.

Muslims are an exception. All facets and layers of the U.S. government have accommodated political correctness in eliminating "Islam" and "Muslim" from terrorist connections. Yet we all know they are Muslims.

Politically correct blindness may be involved in this case if the Army would send a Muslim Army officer, who resisted such assignment, to fight in a Muslim country. Should we be surprised by this Muslim's actions?

Fact: Some in the American Muslim community practice their own religious law -- Sharia -- which is not according to U.S. law. Two cases in point -- two Muslim families, two daughters. The fathers of both seek death for their daughters because they have besmirched the family honor by becoming "too Westernized." One father, in Peoria, Ariz., is accused of killing his daughter in a vehicular homicide. The other daughter, Rifqa Bary of Ohio, has so far avoided returning to her family and to her death. In America!

This is not the America we once thought of as a melting pot. We are now a multicultural and pluralistic society where the U.S. law and Constitution have been declared null and void. Islam's Sharia law may be America's future legal system.

I can't help but think that a time is coming when a letter stating facts will be considered hate speech and a crime. In America!

Bonnie "Islam's Sharia law

Bonnie "Islam's Sharia law may be America's future legal system." sentences like that over the top language the right uses far too often are the problem it is based in unreasonable fear. However, Muslims are the majority of terrorists but the majority of muslims aren't terrorist that is the fine line we have to walk. If is difficult to manage that but America in her greatness will prevail.

In England and Canada there are areas that use sharia law. Radical muslims are agitating for the passage of two tiered systam. In America we have had muslims taking sharia law into their own hands with honor killings. Bonnie may not be as over the top as you might think!

Great letter Bonnie and true.

Great letter Bonnie and true. I think a JC (Jesus Christ) attitude is better than PC. There is nothing correct about PC or anything else that prevents the truth from being told.

We see the extreme cases of

We see the extreme cases of Sharia law in the news but Sharia law is practiced every single day in America. In our laws these daily transactions would come under civil law. Imams across the nation are imposing Sharia faster than any court in America is dispensing justice and it is only getting more and more prevalent and encrotching further and further into the American fabric. The daily news should be a wake-up call to those folks that sport the naive "coexist" bumper stickers.

The leftist naysayers who

The leftist naysayers who have clearly stated that Hasan just "snapped" and agreed with Obama that we should not rush to conclusions have been proven wrong once again. They want to stay politically correct and not "offend" Muslims. It is time to call a spade a spade. Hasan has now been linked to financial transactions to/from Pakistan, have "SoA" on his business card, and of course the "God is Great" shout before shooting, preaching Islam to soldiers while treating them, and his statements to fellow doctors in his briefings. Yet the leftstream media did not mention terrorist until Obama mentioned the word, just showing that they are following his lead. How can the media, who's job it is to keep the populace informed, be trusted when they are politically one sided. The American public understands, and in 2010 and 2012 will do away with those who do not. CN is once again wrong, it is not unreasonable fear, but fear that the PC people will get others killed. PC killed 14 in Ft. Hood, and now the FBI is reported to have known about the killer of the soldiers in the Little Rock recruiting station. PC has now killed upwards of 17 American soldiers in the US, when will it stop?

Some might dismiss the Ohio

Some might dismiss the Ohio girl's claim as a teen exaggerating to justify a rash act, which may still be the case. But her situation must be weighed carefully in light of what has happened to other young women. In July 2008, a Pakistani man living near Atlanta was charged with beating his 25-year-old daughter to death for declining to go along with an arranged marriage to a cousin twice her age. In Irving, Texas, on New Year's Day 2008, Amina Said, 18, and her sister Sarah, 17, were shot to death by their father for having unsanctioned boyfriends. In Canada, where hate speech laws are strangling public discussion of any unpleasant aspects of militant Islam, certain segments of the growing Muslim population are applying Sharia law to wayward females. About a dozen cases have arisen, according to Amin Muhammad, a professor at Memorial University in Newfoundland. A much-cited 2001 stat from the United Nations Population Fund estimates the worldwide number of "honor killings" at 5,000 annually.

In Pakistan, an attorney

In Pakistan, an attorney shocked lawmakers a year ago by defending the honor killing of five women who were beaten, shot and then buried alive because some of them wanted to choose which man to marry."These are centuries-old traditions and I will continue to defend them," Israr Ullah Zehri, who represents Baluchistan province, said to Pakistan's parliament. "Only those who indulge in immoral acts should be afraid." Got that? Burying women alive is not immoral. To be fair, Zehri caught flak from some of the other Muslim parliamentarians that day. Numerous Muslim authorities have said that the Koran does not justify "honor killings." But the killings continue. As does Islamic-inspired terrorism.

The founding principles of

The founding principles of our laws come from Judeo-Christian values. Our founders knew, and often stated, that a free, democratic republic could work only with moral assumptions common to Christianity - even if citizens were not Christians. We see the truth of this more and more as the application of Sharia cracks the surface of our society.

"political correctness" what

"political correctness" what a crock this term is. but, since i'm not a politician, i don't worry about being politically correct. no need for me to watch my mouth or how i phrase things, since i'm not out there running for office or professing to be something and someone i am not. this p.c. term is way overused today, sort of like the 'whatever!' comment and 'i'm a single mother, blahblahblah' and 'it is what it is' statements we hear all the time, every day, ad nauseum. as far as this major poobah goes, well, if it walks like a duck, smells like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, poops and pees like a duck, it's probably a duck. a terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist, dressed in army fatigues or a burkah or whatever. too bad the security officer wasn't a better shot. i thought they were supposed to take criminals out, not just down.

Concernednative, why don't you just go ahead and apologize for all Muslim terrorist actions. My god, you Leftist truly do want to give this country away and you wonder why Beck and most Conservatives get so upset with idiots like yourself. Concerned, you should find a Mosque somewhere and do whatever you have to do to become a member. Remember to carry the rug around for praying.

Overburdened I don't profess

Overburdened I don't profess to be an expert on american law, like you, so I would like to know where you read that our laws are based on some Judeo-Christian values? I always thought our laws were based on the laws of England. As to the letter, I believe the writer is in the main correct. The writers statement " Islam's Sharia law may be America's future legal system." may not be a totally bad thing given our current legal system. I dare say you have less burglaties, carjacking, theft, etc etc in muslim countries than we have here. I wonder how many people under Sharia law have to lock their doors and install surveilance cameras in their own homes?

In fact I wonder if under Sharia law a lawyer would be assigned to the Major ro try and find a ridicilous way to prove he killed his fellow soldiers because of mitigating problems in his youth. To me the real tragedy of the Tecas massacre will be our court system dragging the case out to a couple of years and making sure the killer is given his rights. Further, I ask you what is worse, someone who commits a crime or a snake who trys to prove it was our fault all along that a crime was committed?

And again harp defends anything other than conservative. Didn't they say "MOSTLY silent"? We always get a list defending any liberal organizations or policies from harp. If you wanted to keep your status in the US, wouldn't you release some kind of condemnation? But what have they actually done? Actions speak louder than words. If you're not concerned - You're not paying attention...

disssman on Sat Nov 14, 2009 8:23 AM Yes and women are gang raped under sheria law becuase two women must testify to convict one man, but if one women testafies and the men contradict her the men go free. The women then kills herself to protect the family honor ...sounds great huh? Rape of women provacatively dressed is OK because if a women acts or dresses like a prostitute you can treat her as a prostitute, hence the gang rape of the life guard in Australia that lead to the riots at the beach there a year or so ago...
