Video highlights from the first half of the Broome at Strom Thurmond prep football game.

STROM THURMOND 31, BROOME 12

PLAY OF THE GAME: Strom Thurmond's Martinez Gallman returned the opening kickoff of the second half 85 yards for a touchdown that gave the Rebels a 21-0 lead. That would be too much for Broome's offense to overcome.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Strom Thurmond senior running back Nick Williamson rushed for 130 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns.

WHY STROM THURMOND WON: The Rebels won the battle in the trenches. The offensive line imposed its will on a stout Broome defensive front, allowing Strom Thurmond to rush for 190 yards.

WHY BROOME LOST: Stalled drives inside the red zone.

next: Strom Thurmond travels to Central Pageland for the third round of the Class AAA playoffs, a rematch from 2008 that Central Pageland won.
