Suspect flees after car rams into clinic
Authorities were looking Thursday for a man suspected in a carjacking who led North Augusta police on a chase before escaping on foot.
North Augusta Public Safety officers spotted a man they identified as Anthony Tashawn Perry, 24, of Celeste Avenue, driving a gold 2002 Ford Explorer south on U.S. 25 around noon. When officers tried to stop the car it sped away, according to Public Safety Lt. Tim Pearson.
That chase ended when the vehicle crashed into the North Augusta Chiropractic building on Knox Avenue. A suspect then fled on foot.

Theater bans teens caught having sex
Two teens have been banned from an Evans movie theater after a Columbia County sheriff's deputy said he caught them having sex.
The deputy was on special duty Nov. 6 at the Evans 14 Cinemas, 4365 Towne Center Drive, when he said he saw a 15-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl having sex in the second row of theater 10 in view of other patrons.
The teens were turned over to their parents after the theater decided not to prosecute. Both were told never to return, county authorities said.
Chambliss visits VA center to give thanks
U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss said he visited the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center on Wrightsboro Road on Thursday to say "thank you" to the active duty soldiers receiving rehabilitation.
"Veterans Day was yesterday and I've been trying to concentrate on some veterans events this week just to show my respect and my admiration for these men and women," the Georgia lawmaker said.
During his tour, he visited the medical center's active duty rehabilitation gym and the domiciliary unit. Prior to taking the tour, he met with several officials from the medical center and the CSRA Wounded Warrior Care Project to get updates on the programs and their needs.
Fort Gordon will honor 22 POWs at memorial
Fort Gordon will hold a memorial ceremony for the German and Italian POWs buried in the cemetery near Gate 2, at 3 p.m. Monday.
There are 21 German soldiers and one Italian buried in the POW cemetery. The ceremony is open to the public.
Authorities say Beech Island man was killed
Aiken County Sheriff's investigators believe a Beech Island man found dead Wednesday was killed.
The death of Gregory Brabham, 52, of Swamp Road, was a homicide, Sgt. Dave Myers said Thursday, but he would offer no other details.
Mr. Brabham's body was found in the Savannah River near the Kimberly Clark power station, authorities said. He had been missing between six and 10 days, according to family .

Early voting continues in District 1 runoff
Early voting continued Thursday for the Augusta Commission District 1 runoff, with 33 voters casting ballots.
Voting hours in the days ahead will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Board of Elections Office at 530 Greene St., Room 104. The hours will expand from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 23-25.
Voters must present one of six eligible forms of identification when voting.
Only registered voters in District 1 are eligible to cast a ballot in the Dec. 1 runoff. Absentee ballots will be available next week, and voters must make requests in writing to the Board of Elections.

AugustaVoter, that officer did enforce the law. Where is it written that every time a crime is committed you have to arrest someone. Do they arrest every person that breaks the speed limit, how about jay walking or disturbing the peace. Sometimes a warning and just the threat of being arrested will straighten some individuals up. This has nothing to do with which county it occurred in and crackerjack, do you know the girl's mother well enough to make a comment like "like mother, like daughter"?
I guess the Evans theater is no longer safe. lol. The big Regal is so annoying to go to bc of the movie hoppers and people talking and fighting throughout the movie. Yes, you can be a perfectly respectible citizen, but when you go around looking dirty and unkempt, with lint and junk stuck in your hair because you never wash it, people judge you poorly. Intelligent people know that, and choose their hairstyle and clothing accordingly. You can wear your hair anyway you want, but that's what happens.
This is to the parents of the kids caught having sex in the theatre- they got off this time, but you need to find a good lawyer and a good shrink. You will need them. Teenagers can do stupid things, but this is on the level of dogs in heat. People learn as children that sex is private, and it's already too late for those two. You wouldn't be laughing if your child got to watch them, would you?
