Topless coffee shop owner wants to reopen

VASSALBORO, Maine -- The owner of a topless coffee shop destroyed by an arson fire wants to reopen in the small central Maine town of Vassalboro.

Donald Crabtree plans to ask the Vassalboro Planning Board on Tuesday for a new business permit.

He told the Kennebec Journal he hopes to reopen in a trailer and save money until he can get a newer building.

The opening of the Grand View Topless Coffee Shop last February angered many residents in Vassalboro, a small town outside of Augusta.

Officials continue to investigate the fire that destroyed the shop in June just hours after Crabtree talked with local officials about making the business more like a strip club.

"Topless coffee shop owner wants to reopen," says the headline. Well, if Donald Crabtree wants to work without a shirt, why should the city council stand in his way?
