Weinberger's Furniture to open outlet store

  • Follow Local Business

The owner of Weinberger's Furniture Showcase is opening a new discount furniture retail store next week.

Weinberger's Furniture and Rug Outlet will open Nov. 19 at 2525 Reynolds Industrial Road, off River Watch Parkway.

"We're trying to bring the outlet concept to Augusta to satisfy the home furnishings needs of a wider range of consumers," said owner Mark Weinberger. "We also wanted to attract some younger people that think maybe they can't afford Weinberger's, but now with this concept, we feel like they can."

The store will sell manufacturer's close-outs and lower-priced furniture, rugs, pictures, lamps and grills.

Weinberger's Furniture Showcase on Washington Road also sells manufacturer's close-out items, but the new store gives the company more room to offer such merchandise, Mr. Weinberger said.

The new store is 15,000 square feet.

This will be the third store for Mr. Weinberger, who also owns one at Lake Oconee.

"This is going to be less frills. We're not going to offer delivery services. We'll arrange them, but we're not going to actually make the deliveries ourselves," he said.

He said he will hire six employees for the store.

The discount store is inside the former warehouse space for Weinberger's Furniture Showcase. The warehouse has been moved to a building next door, which the company also owned.

Weinberger's Furniture and Rug Outlet will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Someone better check that Weinberger's has receipts for the merchandise they're selling...

i just hope its good furniture and not some particleboard junk

The question is, do they have enough trailers to make the move.

The above comments have nothing to do with this article and are mean spirited. It's good for the CSRA to have a new business with new employment opportunities in these tough times. Good luck!

Stop being so cruel. The family has had enough tragedy. Good luck to them.

I agree augusta_citizen !! You people go crawl back under the rock, you climbed out from under !! Sounds like a version of 'Great Deals on Furniture' like on Bobby Jones. Almost the same hours, too.

I am absolutely amazed at the sick state of mind that some people in Augusta have and don't mind displaying it. You that have submitted mean cruel remarks are totally unnecessary, and like most comments of this nature, they simply say more about you than the people you are talking about. So, demented dave, ChipSuhoi, nofrills and cajunnana2000, you have made some pretty cruel statements about YOURSELVES by posting your remarks. May God help you. As for the new Weinberger's Outlet, CONGRATULATIONS! A new business is a great stimulus to our local economy. I'm sure the folks making deliveries will appreciate the added business opportunity for themselves, as well. Best Wishes!

It is good to see a new business such as this. The Weinberger Furniture Store offers excellent customer service, and this new business will be no different.Congratulations to Mark Weinberger for having the vision to offer a much needed concept.

New store, good, lower prices, better AND the best part is "hire six employees for the store" now that is great news. Jobs ! Good luck to all.

Discount furniture from a name we all know and trust. I'll definitely visit and will probably purchase something. Thanks Mark!

Congratulations on your new store and for continue serving the CSRA. Best wishes to you and your entire family and the chidren involved in a tremendous tradegy that effects the whole family. I've been in your shoes 25 yrs. ago. Keep up the good work. Thanks for all you do. Our prayers are with you.

Don't go too nuts over a couple of jobs. Since Augusta has very little growth and construction, it's safe to say that the furniture sales pie is pretty fixed in size. Any growth at one store will be reflected in less sales somewhere else. It's like another restaurant in Columbia County. We all cheer for the new jobs but never hear of the lost jobs from other restaurants closing.

Gonna have any trailers for sale?

I think this is a fabulous idea to tap into the current economic conditions. We grew up in NC and High Point has many of these clearance places that do very well. We enjoy scouting for good buys and unique pieces when we go home to visit. Help people save money is a great idea now!! YES YOU CAN!!!

crackerjack

Man this is great, I've been looking for a trailer.

Will there be a discount on ''trailers''?

grinder48

why is this news? Does AC provide similar free advertising to all businesses???

cajunnana2000

Why was my comment ommited. I did not use foul language. I only used the word trailer.

cajunnana2000

To Katiecarolin,I did not make a rude statement. I mentioned the word trailer in a one sentence statement. I guess for some reason that work and weinberger does not go together. I've read some comments in this paper that have been very rude to families and nobody cared to omit them from the comments, so I guess its just WHO the comments are in reference to. I truly understand, beleive me I do.
