Man follows woman into room, takes cash
An Augusta woman said she was robbed at knifepoint Friday night while trying to enter her room at the Scottish Inn on Gordon Highway.
The woman told Richmond County investigators she was attempting to unlock the door to her room about 3:45 p.m. Friday when an unknown male approached and pushed her into her room. The woman ran around a table yelling for help and threw an envelope with $400 inside at the man, who fled.
The man was described as black, between 20 and 25 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing gray pants and a gray shirt.
Man punches teen who didn't have cigarettes
An Augusta teen told Richmond County police he was assaulted and robbed Friday while walking along Glenn Hill Drive at Barton Chapel Road.
The man said he was approached about 4 p.m. by a burgundy car with four men in it. The men asked him for cigarettes, and when he replied he didn't have any, one of the men got out of the vehicle, punched him in the face and took $10.
Man takes $90 from victim at knifepoint
An Augusta man said he was robbed at knifepoint early Friday. He told Richmond County investigators a man approached him about 2 a.m. and asked for change.
He told police that when he reached in his pocket, the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened to hurt him if he didn't give up the $90 in his hand. The robber fled in a brown truck. He was described as black, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 145 pounds.
