BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Dustin Taliaferro threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score, as Samford beat Georgia Southern 31-10 on Saturday.
Taliaferro went 11 for 20 for 150 yards, including an 8-yard TD pass to Richie Fordham and a 69-yarder to Riley Hawkins.
Brandon Nolley scored the only touchdown for the Eagles (4-5, 3-3 Southern Conference) on a 26-yard run.
The Bulldogs (4-5, 2-4) picked off Eagles' quarterback Lee Chapple three times. Chapple went 29 for 43 with 212 yards.

In Culowhee, N.C., Terrell Hudgins set the all-time Football Championship Subdivision record for receiving yards and Brandon Newsome ran for four TDs for Elon (8-1, 6-0).
Hudgins caught eight passes for 153 yards and a TD, setting the all-time FCS record with 4,812 career yards, breaking Jerry Rice's mark of 4,693 receiving yards.
Zack Jaynes was 15 for 21 with 140 yards and two TDs to lead the Catamounts (1-8, 1-6).

In Charleston, S.C., Stev Davitte rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on seven carries to help the he Terriers (3-6, 2-4) beat the Bulldogs (4-5, 2-4) for the 11th consecutive season.
APPALACHIAN STATE 35, CHATTANOOGA 20
In Boone, N.C., Devon Moore finished with 74 yards on the ground and had scoring runs of 1, 8 and 15 yards to lead the Mountaineers (7-2, 6-0) past the Mocs (5-4, 3-4).
