AUGUSTA, Ga. - Franklin Delano Ghorley, 76, entered into rest Thursday, November 5, 2009 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 7, 2009 with Rev. Clinton Patterson officiating. Mr. Ghorley was preceded in death by his son Ollie Spurlock. Mr. Ghorley retired from the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He later worked as a chef at Doctor's Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Corbin Ghorley; children, Abbie (Robert) Rotger, Martinez, Sonia Spurlock, New York, Zella (Mike) Shephard, North Augusta, South Carolina and Rondall (Ruthie) Spurlock, St. Augustine, Florida; nine grandchildren, Larissa and Robert Rotger, Carol and Angie Spurlock, Priscilla and Jerome Spurlock, Brittany, Abrianna and Cheyenne Spurlock; brother, Samuel Ghorley, Decatur, Tennessee; sisters, Judy Bryant, Pulaski, Tennessee, Grace Black, Carolyn Ghorley, both of Athens, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
