THOMSON, Ga. - Donald Thomas McNeill, 65, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at his residence in Thomson. He is survived by his children, Ruth McNeill Vaughn, of Augusta, and Donald Thomas McNeill, Jr., of Atlanta. His wife Mary Knox McNeill predeceased him. Mr. McNeill also is survived by his son-in -law Edwin Campbell Vaughn, his grandson Edwin Campbell Vaughn, Jr., his fianc Beverly Howard, of Augusta, and two brothers, David Armstrong McNeill, III, of Florida, and Jack Reddick McNeill of Augusta. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, at 11:00 a.m., at Thomson First United Methodist Church, with Reverend John F. Barnes officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Langham, Tommy Neuhoff, Toby Silberman, George Lokey, Rusty Lovelace, Marc Wilson, and John Harvey Edwards. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Presbyterian College, 503 South Broad Street, Clinton, South Carolina 29325, for the McNeill Scholarship Fund, or Thomson First United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 8, Thomson, Georgia 30824, for the endowment fund.
