ATHENS, Ga. --- Tre Lamb won't walk into Sanford Stadium wearing the preferred colors of red and black. But his family shouldn't have any problem getting good seats.
Most of the Tennessee Tech quarterback's family comes from around Commerce, Ga., where his grandfather was a state championship-winning football coach. Ray Lamb now works on Georgia's support staff with Mark Richt. Ray's son and Tre's father, Hal Lamb, coaches football at Calhoun High School.
When Saturday's homecoming game against Tennessee Tech was announced, the Lambs scheduled a family reunion.
"I know I got about 15 tickets and I think granddad got about 15 tickets," said Tre, a redshirt freshman. "It's going to be a fun time."
"We're planning to meet up, get down to the stadium and do the tailgating thing," Hal said. "We wish we could spend more time with him, but we're sure excited to get a chance to see him in Sanford."
Tre, a backup quarterback, has played in four of the Golden Eagles' eight games.
He probably would get into Saturday's game at the tail end of a blowout.
In 1993, Ray became Georgia's Coordinator of High School Relations, serving as a liaison between the university's athletic department and high school coaches throughout the Southeast.
Tre was an all-state quarterback selection at Calhoun, but his height (5-foot-9) scared away major colleges, including Georgia. He signed with Tennessee Tech and sat out last season.
"We sure hope he gets to play," Ray said. "He's been looking forward to playing in Sanford for so long. He more or less grew up out there. When he was little, he used to follow me around to practice and to the games. I know he's really excited to finally get a chance to play out in that stadium."

GATOR SUSPENDED FOR FULL GAME
GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- With all the negative attention "weighing heavy on his heart," Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes asked to serve a full-game suspension for trying to gouge the eyes of a Georgia running back.
Coach Urban Meyer obliged, saying Wednesday that it was in the top-ranked Gators' best interest that Spikes sit out Saturday's game against Vanderbilt.
Meyer had suspended his star defender for the first half of the Vanderbilt game.
Spikes stuck his hand into the facemask of Georgia's Washaun Ealey during Florida's 41-17 win over the Bulldogs last weekend.
