Sure - just let Dems control our lives

  • Follow Letters

I have contacted U.S. Rep. John Barrow's office many times, and his staff has always been great in listening to me -- but now I realize they were right.

I need to understand that the government knows best for me! I can't believe that I didn't know any better!

Yes, the Democrats and John should be able to tell us whether or not we need a knee replacement or a test -- not our doctors!

Yes, John and his people should be able to tell us how much we make and set salaries for people.

OK, John and the Dems should be able to tell us what and how much to eat so we won't get fat!

Yes, the Democrats and John should pass the cap-and-trade bill and run our electric bills up many hundreds of dollars a year.

You know, John and his friends should be able to put my children in thousands of dollars of debt in taxes for the rest of their lives.

I don't know what I have been thinking. Hey, these guys -- Nancy Pelosi, President Obama, Barrow and the other Democrats -- know what is best for me and my family.

I'm sorry. I'll shut up! Who am I to worry about these things?

I understand why someone from Washington can tell me how to live my life, especially when my congressman lives in Savannah.

What's wrong with that?

Pelosi has actual inserted a provision in the health care bill to protect trial lawyers!! States that cap awards for malapractice get less health care money!! All hail Obumbler, Reid, Pelosi and the trial lawyers. What is good for the trial lawyers is good for
Amerioca...

Tigger_The_Tiger

It's called the Anti tort reform amendment!

WhippingPost

A good citizen just shuts up and does as told...according to the current administration. What a horrible mistake to put Obama in charge. More and more voters are finally waking up to this serious misstep. The congress must be drastically changed in 2010.

7 Obama lies in under 2 minutes. Listen to them come from his own mouth. ----------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMe5dOgbu40

We good citizens, as you say, WP, have just shut up and done as we were told for years by the insurance companies, as we've had NO CHOICE. For example, my husband's doctor prescribed a medication for him at a particular dosage. The pharmacy tells him that they can give him only 2/3 of the number of pills in the DOCTOR'S prescription because the insurance company feels the dosage is too high and they won't pay for it. So, they'll cover only 60, not 90, pills per month. If that's not practicing medicine, what is? And come January, our plan through my husband's employer is going to get worse--more expensive, less coverage, etc. The letter writer overlooks the fact that the insurance companies routinely stand between us and our medical care.

HotFoot on Tue Nov 3, 2009 5:07 AM The NUMBER ONE payer of health care that refuses authorization is medicare! You can have an insurnace company limit your care or the government limit your care. With the government as in England certain proven medications that benefit you will be with held becuase they cost to much.

Hotfoot have you ever heard the saying you can't fight city hall?

WhippingPost

HotFoot, so, you really think the federal government will give you a simpler, more worry free life? Geeze, haven't you been paying attention this life? TANSTAAFL!

HotFoot

I don't expect to get my health insurance through the government. However, I DO expect the government to be able to regulate health insurance industry more closely and to eliminate the most egregious, greed-driven practices. And WP, I suppose your Old Men's Club knows what that acronym means, but please enlighten the rest of us.

WhippingPost

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch. And you think the federal government is benevolent?

ispy4u

What does free lunch have to do with interfering with what a health care professional prescribes for you. These companies have people on board who bottom line is to gain a profit at the expense of your health. They read charts not see living people and decide what they feel is best for you. They denied me coverage of a hospitalization because I did not contact them prior to being admitted to the hospital. I tried to explain that the fact that I was experiencing chest pain and in the middle of a heart attack, it slipped my mind at 2 AM to contact their helpline. My Doctor did contact them later that day. It took going through the State insurance Commissioner to get them to pay. My point is I pay every two weeks for coverage that I expect to be there when I need it. This is not about free lunch but life or death.

WhippingPost

ipsy, I've read your posts and am certain no one will ever be able to explain the concept of TANSTAAFL to you, or any of the other nuances of the American language. I'm sure you feel the federal government will supply your every satisfaction at no cost to you.

Obama Derangement Syndrome ALIVE and still kicking, do you have it? Surely the LTE does.

WhippingPost

fruitpa, Obama IS a carrier. Every thinking person exposed to him gets ODS. Of course, with no brain, you're safe from the infection.

1941

Bush told you nothing for eight years, and that is the reason you are beign told now !!!!!!So shut up, will you!!!!

Rhetor

Let me get this straight. The conservatives foisted No Child Left Behind on us, leading to unprecedented and, for the most part, unwise federal control over our local schools. They passed the Patriot Act, which should be called the Unpatriot Act, to attack our basic freedoms. They standardized ID cards to federal requirements, which conservatives used to oppose viciously. They want public schools to preach religion--their religion, to the exclusion of all others. And now you have the nerve to complain about the Dems running our lives? Grow up.

overburdened_taxpayer

That anti-tort reform was probably John Edwards' contribution to the bill. That is where he made most of his money.

jackfruitpaper833

Ask again do you have ODS? yes you, do you have Obama Derangement Syndrome, with a lot of HATE included with it?

overburdened_taxpayer

I do have ODS because I believe that Obama is deranged with his marxist policies.

there may be more health care needed if what Dr. Russell is telling about with the swine flu vaccine is correct. I hope this is not the case

Jackfruitpaper833, If a red eyed tree frog had won the presidency and tried to ram down my throat the same policies that this president if trying to do, I would hate that red eyed tree frog till I squashed him.

overburdened_taxpayer

jackfruit - apparently you have a real racial problem. I don't recall anyone saying you were a racist for disagreeing with Bush's policies. Was that an oversight on our part?
