Health-care plan smacks of communism

Contrary to what you folks seem to think, Obama's Director of the National Institute of Health is not a communist, but a conservative evangelical. The right-wing media has grossly misrepresented our President's agenda.

It's not the conservative NIH Director that is pulling this train it is the ultra-liberal members of Congress that is screwing things up.

Cleansing and disinfecting make me think of fascists and dictators. Trying to get manage a government budget that, admittedly, does include social programs, does not even sound remotely socialist to me. Its just practical.

Dan (the letter writer) probably does not have a cognizant idea what Communism really is, because the Commies would never have a program like universal health care. In the USSR, they had hospitals in Siberia that gave you all the care that you could receive under the Communist regime. So quit acting like a baby, and realize that univeral health care is CARE. Is there a cost, yes if you chose to participate. If you cannot afford it then you will receive help. This is the beginning of a solution to the rising health care costs in this country. yeah but keep in mind medicare turns down more procedures and medical treatments than any of the other EVIL insurance companies thats right your righteous govt denies more people medical treatment than any other private insurance company 6.58 percent of claims are denied by medicare aetna is second 6.5 all other insurance companies are around 3 percent

If this plan is good enough for the common people, it is good enough for those who work for us - congress and the president and his family. Unless they are going to be covered by this policy, I want no part of it.

Common sense and facts will tell you that America has one heck of a problem with the existing Health care. There are two sides to this health care issue. One side trying to correct it with a socialist government control and the other side has slept through the corruption that has made it the way it is. Us Americans have elected the Hatfields and the McCoys into our government who were suppose to represent us and fix problems like we have now. Why can't both sides put down their guns, sit around a table with a beer and come up with a bill that would be accepted by both sides. If this continues when the sun goes down, BOTH side will lose and the American people will be the one who will suffer the most.

To support health care, I will pay my fair share of the cost. Thus, at $1.2 trillion divided by approximately 300 million citizens equals $4,000 over ten years. Further divide this by 10 years and then 12 months, for my cost of $33 in additional taxes per month. I will further gladly pay for my wife and children as well. Thus if ALL citizens would bear the brunt of the cost, then helath care will be acceptable. Those who say they cannot afford it need to give up their cigarettes, beer, and drugs (which will in effect make them healthier). Unless ALL citizens who will benefit from this pay their fair share, then I still stand totally against any reform being pushed down my throat by those who DO NOT have to participate in it.

Dan - I strongly suspect that you use the terms "fascist," "communist," "Marxist," and "socialist" without having the slightest clue about what they mean. You have heard the terms used on some right-wring radio show and you're just repeating them like a parrot.

Sooner/Later, one flaw. When was the last time the govt was actually correct in it's cost estimate of anything? I wonder if our predecessors could ever have imagined how screwed up their estimates of SS and medicare would become? How much is the unfunded obligation amount now? $60 TRILLION? I quit looking.
