Tuesday: The S.C. Department of Natural Resources Waterfowl Advisory Committee will hold a listening session to allow waterfowlers to express opinions about the management and hunting of waterfowl. The 7 p.m. meeting will be held at the Midlands Tech, Airport Campus -- Academic Center, West Columbia. Get directions at: www.dnr.sc.gov/wildlife/waterfowl/lsessions.

Friday: Augusta-Aiken Audubon will hold its 10th annual Auction for Education from 6-9 p.m. at the North Augusta Community Center. Proceeds benefit environmental programs in local schools. Auction items include golf packages, artwork, canoe trips, home and garden accessories, bird feeders, a one-hour massage, books and more.  Admission is free. Saturday: Augusta Bassmasters fishing club will play host to its annual Boy Scouts of America tournament at the Wildwood Park area of Thurmond Lake. Pre-registration will be held at Augusta Marine from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday: A workshop and school on building mountain bike trails will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Thurmond Lake Visitors Center in Clarks Hill, S.C. The event is sponsored by the CSRA chapter of the Southeast Off Road Bicycle Association and will be taught by the International Mountain Bicycling Association's trail crew, whose members will discuss train building and maintenance. The class is free but advance registration is suggested. Contact Paul Farrow at pfarrow@comcast.net. The classes are being held the same day as the SORBA-CSRA chapter Bike Festival to be held at the Deer Run picnic area at Lake Springs Day Use Area at Thurmond Lake. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes demo rides from Giant, a manufacturer of mountain bikes; along with games and food after a 1:30 p.m. group ride. NOV. 8: Pinetucky Gun Club will hold an ATA Trap Shoot at 10 a.m. There will be three events including singles, handicap, & doubles. Cost is $21 plus fees per event.

NOV. 13-14: The Army Corps of Engineers will hold a muzzleloader primitive weapon deer hunt at its 2,545-acre Bussey Point, located in Lincoln County. Hunters will be checked through the check station located at the entrance gate.  Hours of operation will be from one hour before sunrise through one hour after sundown.  Muzzleloader hunts are limited to 100 hunters per day.  The muzzleloader hunters will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Archery hunters are invited to participate in all scheduled hunts. The bag limit is two does and one quality buck each day of each hunt.  Quality bucks are those with racks having four points or better on at least one side, or a 15-inch or greater outside spread. NOV. 14-15:  An Appleseed Shoot offering basic marksmanship skills will be held at 8:30 a.m. each day at Pinetucky Gun Club. For more information, go to appleseedinfo.com.

NOV. 19: National Wild Turkey Federation's Edgefield Chapter Banquet will be held at 6 p.m. at Old Kendall Mill, Norris Street, Edgefield. Tickets are $50 per person or $80 per couple. The event will feature door prizes, raffles, both live and silent auctions and catered barbecue. For tickets call (800) THE-NWTF.
