Michael Duvall met his wife, Kristen, through her dog, Sadie.

"One day, I saw her out with Sadie," he said. "I decided to go up to Kristen and ended up asking her out. She said yes, and here we are. We sometimes joke that we have Sadie to thank."

Mrs. Duvall added, with a laugh: "He actually has a shirt that says, 'You had me at woof.' "

The couple were married in April. In June, they moved into their home in Baldwin Place in Grovetown.

They had previously lived in a townhouse in the neighborhood where they met.

"The townhouse was nice, but it was too small," Mr. Duvall said. "We looked at probably 20 houses before we came across this one. It had everything we were looking for: a brick home, nice floor plan, hardwood floors."

Their favorite place to spend time is in their back- yard around the pool, his wife said.

"We call it our beach at home," Mrs. Duvall said. "I like it because it's in the privacy of our own backyard and I can go swimming whenever I like."

While she swims, Mr. Duvall is usually busy at the grill.

"Since we've moved in, I've done it quite a bit," he said. "It's something I enjoy."

As for Sadie's favorite spot? "It's wherever we are," Mrs. Duvall said. "She's a people dog. She wants to be around a person all the time."

The couple plan to rear a family in the home, she said.

"We love it," Mrs. Duvall said. "We're going to be here for a long time."
