Stance against Fox News is disturbing

  • Follow Letters

President Obama is treading on dangerous ground. Using a high- handed tactic such as dismissing Fox News as not being a "real news network" should raise the concern of all Americans.

Picking and choosing which networks are given access to the president is un-American and censorship in its truest form. Controlling the media that disagree with your actions is the forte of such leaders as Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.

It is refreshing to see the other networks realize that if they reported stories that were unflattering to the administration, then they too could be branded as not being a "real news network." If you can do it to one, you can do it to all.

There are five bills being

There are five bills being considered I hear. So which bill are we speaking of when we say what it contains. Beck says the plan now in progress is 8,000 pages? I must have misunderstood surely. If there are even less, say 2,000 pages we don't know what is in there. The common belief is abortions will be paid and with illegals given citizenship status, they will have the same benefits as you and I have. The same, with a few exceptions, as Medicaid recipients now have.

Dashrip-rock and Ispy, I know you would rather watch the former paid protester and purple haired dyke know as Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. But there again you could be in love the gay Keith Olberman. Either way looks as if you can just choose a flavor!!!!

Dani: When I say "the bill"

Dani: When I say "the bill" or "the bills" I am referring to either the Baucus bill from the Senate or the House bill announced by Pelosi this week. Baucus' bill is 1500 pgs (OR SO, Tigger) and Pelosi's 1990 pgs (FACT Tigger). If you're going to attempt to understand either, be ready with the IRS tax code, the Social Security Act, the Homeland Security laws, as well as Immigration Code since all are amended/included/bastardized by this crazy legislation. I will say I am much less concerned about potential damage to the USA from HC "reform" because IN MY OPINION (good enough Tigger?) neither bill has a snowball's chance in hell of anything but reconciliation as a means to passage.

Prior to Fox, America had

Prior to Fox, America had perhaps the best journalism in the world. Since Fox, once reputable media sources have begun slanting their stories in both directions. Fox has irreparably damaged one our essential checks and balances and turned American news into opinio-tainment, much like European news.

I would question any poll

I would question any poll which was taken telephonically from a select audience by pollsters who are biased to begin with and there is no written record of the respondents answers. By the way the NPR poll didn't and couldn't include my neighbors or one of my sons because they all use cell phones and the poll was only for landline phones. Basically people who uses cell phones for a household in these hard times, are people scrapping for a living. Further, when was the poll taken 9:00 A.M. or 9:00 P.M.? It would make a difference if working people were excluded. In conclusion, I only believe polls that are written and mailed in, that way a full spectrum of people are able to participate.

It is difficult to separate

It is difficult to separate the lies from the truth as no one ever answers any of the hard question that the Fox Network ask. I am very concerned that our government will take over a major part of our economy with their health care plan. The history of the government predictions on costs (both parties) have resulted in costs being 6 to 7 times more than they estimated. I don't want the government ruining my health care. Let the free market work!!

Liberals love to preach

Liberals love to preach freedom of speech, until you say something they don't agree with. Then it's labeled hate speech. Go to any college campus today and try to say anything remotely conservative and see how fast you are shouted down. Not to mention this new asinine hate crime legislation which basically punishes thought. Thanks Libs..Brave New World indeed..

Remember the [filtered word]s were

Remember the [filtered word]s were racist, haters and that hasn't worked. They attacked Sara and tried to destroy her and that didn't work. Then they attacked the American citizens and called them names and that didn't work. Then the healthcare plan was all about the bad healthcare and when that didn't work their plan was to attack insurance companies (that have less than 2% profit) and that hasn't worked. Then they attacked Rush and made it all about him and that didn't work. Now it's FOX and anything that's associated with them and that's not working. Who will be the next that the WH (Chicago thugs) prezbho and his clan attack? What a bunch of clueless, immature, ego driven, incompetents that we have in the WH now.

"Take control of

"Take control of banks........check. Take control of auto industry........check. Take control of healthcare..........working. Take control of the media.........almost complete. History repeats itself. Heil Obama." You are so right, Tigger_the_Tiger... these are scary times in which we're living. And so many people either don't seem to notice, are denying it, or are so in love with the President's sparkling personality (it doesn't sparkle for me, but I can see how it would for some) that they just don't care. It's almost like he's following a script for a world like the one in George Orwell's "1984."

FOX news has conceded that it

FOX news has conceded that it is sympathetic to Republicans, to the point of actually offending the people who work there. I believe Shepherd Smith actually apologized on television the other night for FOX's lack of balance after a reporter interviewed a Republican candidate, but failed to interview the Democrat.

Bush did more to hurt free speech in this country. He attacked MSBC and actually attempted to prevent it from airing certain segments. Also, might I remind everyone of the New York Times journalist who was thrown in jail at the instigation of the Bush administration.

"Also, might I remind everyone of the New York Times journalist who was thrown in jail at the instigation of the Bush administration." So? I couldn't stand a lot of the stuff Bush was doing, either. Bush's wrongs don't make Obama's wrongs right.

prezbho continues to make

prezbho continues to make everything happening now about Bush and to blame him for everything. prezbho paid a HUGE price to win the election with the union, socialists and others money and his empty promises. It's time prezbho grows up and accepts the responsibility for what HE is doing to the country NOW. His blaming others isn't working. This is the most self-consumned prez we've ever had. If you're not concerned -- You're not paying attention...
