Halloween fun

It's awfully easy to scare (sorry) up a good time on Halloween.

Whether your costumed party of choice is bar- hopping or something more family-friendly, the spookiest of seasons offers a little something for everyone. Here is a sampling of some of the Halloween events happening in and around Augusta this weekend:

FALL FEST

Graystone Ranch, 1017 McManus Road, Hephzibah, is staging an extended fall festival, which runs 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. It features animals, hiking trails, a pumpkin patch, food, a hay maze and, after dark, a haunted forest. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. See graystoneranch.com.

A-MAZE

The Kackleberry Farm corn maze, 1025 Verdree Road in Louisville, Ga., is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 8. The attraction features a 7-acre corn maze, livestock, food, a corn cannon and pig racing. Flashlight runs through the maze are available at night. You supply the flashlight. Admission is $11 general, $8 seniors and $9 for military, law enforcement or medical personnel. There's no charge for ages 2 and younger. Call (478) 625-7552.

A TOWN CALLED HORROR

In New Ellenton, fright seekers are urged to take a stroll through Horrorville. The haunted attraction is open from 8 p.m. to midnight through Halloween. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for ages 10 and younger. See horrorvillehauntedhouse.com.

DARK DISCO

The Soul Bar, 984 Broad St., will celebrate Halloween a day early with a costumed edition of DJ Coco Rubio's Disco Hell-oween. Doors open at 8 p.m. See www.soulbar.com.

I BET HE PLAYS THRILLER

Mr. Rubio will follow up Disco Hell-oween with a Halloween '80s night at Sky City, 1157 Broad St., Saturday night. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the cover is $5. See www.skycityaugusta.com.
