DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT: November 2001; chemotherapy, support from family, faith and support group
HER STORY
Ms. McCladdie went through her bout with breast cancer before her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Then, daughter took care of mother.
Ms. Benning says her daughter handled it better than she did.
Those times when her mother didn't want to go to treatments, cancer survivor daughter made her go.
"I said, 'You're going to go as long as they tell you to,' " Ms. McCladdie said.
Both are now cancer free.
