DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT: June 5, 2005; chemotherapy and radiation
HER STORY
She was surprised when she was diagnosed with cancer.
"The losing of my hair, it was devastating," she said.
Mrs. Johnson now takes it one day at a time. Soon, she will take a cruise with a girlfriend.
"I've been traveling and getting to different parts of the world," she said.
She makes healthy choices, such as doing water aerobics, and is involved with grass-roots advocacy group National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, even traveling to New York for a four-day meeting for breast cancer survivors.
HER ADVICE
"Keep a positive attitude and outlook on life," she said.
