So far Hussein has done nothing. He has added troops to Afghanistan, thus escalating our involvement there. He has not done anything in relations to Iraq. He has not close Gitmo. He has backed down and cowtowed to Iran, North Korea, and adandoned our Eastern European allies by backing down to Russia and not assisting in the defense of of those allies. So essentially, Hussein talks about peace, has really done nothing in terms of world diplomacy except for be apologetic for our nation and took a "blame America first" approach. And for this, he wins a worthless prize that has lost its meaning.

justus - I think one small fact needs to be brought to light again. There have been (as a minimum) 10's of thousands of of US military servicemembers in or around Iraq since August 1990. It was not "all peaceful" until 2003. Until you fools admit that, the rest of your credibility just vanishes.

It is legitimate because it was awarded by the Nobel committee, no matter what you think about it,

Part of the 1991 cease-fire agreement called for Iraq to provide PROOF that they had destroyed the WMD's that had used against Iran and their own citizens. That never happened. They also agreed to "unfettered access" for weapons verification teams to document the destruction of the weapons. That never happened. During one of the times the UN-sanctioned inspectors were kicked out of Iraq, CIC Clinton ordered massive airstrikes on Iraq in retaliation. Don't give me this "It started in 2003 bullcrap". If you really didn't know these facts and just choose to ignore them like you do the Obama lies and corruption, then you are welcome for the historical reality lesson.

carcraft, I think the Republicans are harping too much on the "what has Obama achieved". What most Americans understand is that the issues he has tackled are too big to get a 9-month return. Ask that question this coming spring and Obama will have a litany of acomplishments: healthcare reform, expanding economy, greater multi-national support on security issues... all this will play well for mid-term elections and there is nothing the GOP can do about it.

bdittle on Sun Oct 18, 2009 9:40 AM There are issues Obumbler could do somthing about in the time frame he promised, closing Gitmo, posting bills before they are voted on,(just tell Reid and Pelosi he will veto any bill not posted), cutting ear marks (again he has a veto), following his hand picked generals advise, understanding the issue of health care (he demonstrated his ignorance in the two cases he presented before congress and his claiming Drs make $50,000 for an extremeity amputation etc), understand the Hounduran constitution before siding with his fellow lefties Zelaya and Chavez! Obumbler can't handle the simple stuff how is he going to handle the hard stuff, Russia, Iran North Korea, etc?

Awarding Obama the Nobel Peace Prize for no good reason has just cancelled out any meaning that used to be associated with the honor of winning the Prize. There is nothing like another meaningless award.. It'll look nice next to his Heisman Trophy, The Country Music, Baseball Hall of Fame, Oscar and Tony Awards he has on his mantlepiece.
