Teams should begin to lock up playoff berths and jockey for postseason positioning this week. The regular season lasts three more weeks for Class A, AA and AAA schools in South Carolina.

The regular season in Georgia ends Nov. 6, also the same day of the first round of playoffs for non-Class AAAA South Carolina schools.

EVERY WHICH WAY: B.J. Bostic scored four ways in the first half of Jefferson County's 49-14 blasting of East Laurens: rushing, passing, receiving, kick return. Is there any player doing more for his team?

The Warriors are at winless Southeast Bulloch this week and should easily head into their off week 8-0.

GISA SHOWDOWN: Edmund Burke will play host to the defending GISA Class AA champion Memorial Day (5-1) this week. The Spartans are unbeaten through six games, their best start in at least a decade.

BIG GAMES THIS WEEK

7:30 P.M. FRIDAY

REGION 7-A

Lincoln County (5-1, 1-0) at Washington-Wilkes (4-2, 1-0): Both teams have had a week off to prepare for the area's fiercest rivalry. Lincoln County has allowed just 12 points in two games since giving up 21 in a loss to Abbeville (S.C.).

REGION 3-AA

Laney (3-3, 3-3) at Vidalia (3-3, 3-3): The loser of this one is probably out of the playoff race. Laney grabbed the final playoff spot in the region with a 7-3 record last season. Once again this year, 6-4 probably won't cut it.

REGION 3-AAAA

Glenn Hills (2-4, 2-3) at Richmond Academy (4-2, 4-1): Last chance for the Spartans to get a playoff-returning win. Richmond Academy, which took a deflating 38-18 loss to Glenn Hills last season, needs to regroup after its first region loss.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Airport (7-0, 2-0) at South Aiken (3-4, 2-0): Don't look now, but South Aiken has won its first two region games by a combined 38 points. Airport is the region's clear favorite and has scored 38 and 63 points in its two wins.

C.A. Johnson (6-1, 4-0) at Williston-Elko (7-0, 4-0): The Green Hornets, out of downtown Columbia, are having their best season in school history. Williston-Elko hasn't scored fewer than 40 points in a game this year.
