Utah firm will install heating, air at MOX
An Ogden, Utah, sheet metal contractor will receive a $44 million contract to install specialized nuclear-grade heating, ventilation and air conditioning at the mixed oxide fuel facility under construction at Savannah River Site.
The company, Superior Air Handling, is a subsidiary of Harris Cos. of St. Paul, Minn.
The MOX plant is a $4.86 billion facility whose construction is managed by Shaw AREVA MOX Services. The site will dispose of surplus weapons-grade plutonium by blending it with other materials to make fuel for commercial nuclear reactors.
Bank of America will turn in Merrill papers
SAN FRANCISCO --- After months of resistance, Bank of America Corp. is turning over documents related to legal advice it received about the purchase of Merrill Lynch & Co. to the office of New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
A person familiar with the investigation, who requested anonymity because the investigation is ongoing, said Monday that Bank of America's board decided Friday that it would waive its attorney-client privilege and hand over the papers.
Mr. Cuomo's office is trying to determine whether Bank of America misled shareholders about bonuses paid to Merrill employees and the investment bank's losses, in addition to whether Bank of America wavered in its commitment to the agreement before it closed down Jan. 1.
A spokesman for Charlotte, N.C.-based Bank of America couldn't immediately be reached for comment late Monday.
