OCT. 20: The Sierra Club's Savannah River chapter will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, Walton Way Extension. Dr. Frank Carl will explain how easy it is to get training for Adopt-A-Stream and Get the Dirt Out programs. Visitors are welcome. For more information, call Judy Gordon at gordonjudith@att.net.

NOV. 13-14: The Army Corps of Engineers will hold a muzzleloader primitive weapon deer hunt at its 2,545-acre Bussey Point, located in Lincoln County, Ga. Hunters will be checked through the check station located at the entrance gate. Hours of operation will be from one hour before sunrise through one hour after sundown. Muzzleloader hunts are limited to 100 hunters per day.  The muzzleloader hunters will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Archery hunters are invited to participate in all scheduled hunts. The bag limit is two does and one quality buck each day of each hunt.  Quality bucks are those with racks having four points or better on at least one side, or a 15-inch or greater outside spread.
