SANDERSVILLE, Ga. - Mr. Robert Edward 'Bobby' Burgamy, age 72, of Sandersville, died Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00am at the Pine Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Chad Watkins will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tim Chapman, Carl Chapman, Jordie Williamson, Gary 'G' Burgamy, Scott McCurdy and Brian Sims. Mr. Burgamy was born in Washington County the son of Mrs. Marion C. Burgamy and the late Jesse E. Burgamy. He was a retired small engine mechanic, the former owner and operator of J and R Small Engine Repair in Sandersville. Prior to returning home, Bobby was a long time resident of the Turks and Caicos Islands where he also operated a small engine repair shop. Mr. Burgamy was a member of the Pine Hill United Methodist Church and was a US Veteran serving in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. Survivors are his sons, Lawrence E. Burgamy and Rex Burgamy both of West Palm Beach FL, Jessy E. Burgamy of Sandersville and Robert E. Burgamy (Ashley) of Twenty Nine Palms CA., grandchildren Graves Burgamy and Gage Burgamy, his mother Marion C. Burgamy of Sandersville, brother Gary Burgamy (Debbie) of Tennille and sister Sandra B. Williamson of Davisboro. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 6pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
